Ceramic care tips

  • Washing

Items can be run through the dishwasher but handwashing is always recommended as the glaze will wear down over time if you machine wash. Avoid using harsh detergents or abrasive scrubbers, as they can damage the surface and remove the natural patina. Instead, use a mild dish soap and a soft sponge or cloth to gently clean the pottery

  • Transporting

Ceramics are very fragile and if you’re planning on transporting them I recommend the box in a box method. Have one box filled with padding on the bottom + the sides and place a smaller box inside with ceramic items wrapped up in the most efficient packing materials.

  • Microwaving

Although my pottery is microwave-safe, sudden changes in temperature can cause cracking, I don’t recommend microwaving items for longer than a minute. In colder climates, allow your pottery to come to room temperature before adding hot liquids to avoid thermal shock
